Labradoodle Coats
Our doodles are Multigenerational Labradoodles. Which means more consistency in coats. Our puppies will have a Wool or Fleece coat, generaly we can tell at a young age which one and help you decide which one is the right fit for you. Maggie is a great example of a Wool coat and Gideon is a great example of a Fleece coat. We love both! The Hair coat is seen in the first generation F1 labradoodles.
The ideal Labradoodle is a low to non-shedding coat; being a new breed there is variety seen in coat types.
Labradoodles have a single coat ranging from straight to loose curls or wool. Ideally, the curls should not be tight and the coat should not be too thick or fluffy. They can be allergy-friendly to many people who have dog-related allergies. The coat is as non-shedding as any dog can be. However, in some of the early generations, F1, and F2 more shedding can occur, but shedding is rarely seen in the multi-generation Labradoodle.
Wool Coat
A wool coat is soft, luxurious, thick and full. The curls are the most curly of the coat options and the most allgery friendly. This coat is considered non shedding. Wool coats are easy to care for with brushing to prevent matting and trim several times a year.
Fleece Coat
A fleece coat has a silky texture it has been compared to an Angora goat in texture. This coat ranges from straight to wavy or falling in soft curls. It is low to no shedding. This coat is generally allergy friendly.
Hair Coat
The hair coat is usually seen in first generation, F1 dogs. It is a moderate to low shedding coat. This coat is the least likely to be allergy friendly
